low-speed in ics

i have two computers. one has internet connection (adsl)
with winXP, two network adaptors, one is connected to
adsl, another is connected the other computer; the other
computer which is "armed" by win2000pro, and has one
network adaptor, and is connected with the first
computer. the speed between the two computers is normal
(LAN), but the speed in ics between the two computers is
extremely slowly. i mean when the second computer wants
to open a web page, the page appears very very slowly,
taking years. who has any idea about that? how can i
improve it? thanks so much.

Buy a cable/DSL router and solve all your problems. ICS does not function properly.

I doubt this is an ICS issue and as a test you could
connect the computer in question directly to the DSL
connection as opposed to the second computer and see if
the connection speeds up. Slow connections are often
caused by "spyware" or internet related programs running
in the background that you are not aware of. A way to
test this is to reboot the computer to safemode with
networking support and try the connection again. If this
speeds up the connection then the problem is programs
running in the background. You might want to go to
www.download.com, download and install AdAware, update
it, run a scan, then remove all found components.
