Lovson, A. Virus - Restore vulnerability problem

Does anybody know how I get rid of the virus Lovson, A.
which appears to disable my ability to restore windows xp
pro to a previous setup. My antivirus scanner can detect
it but cannot heal or remove it. Can anybody help with
this cos I can't seem to get rid of it and I'm worried
that my computer will go down again and won't come back. 9
years work down the toilet.
