Trojan Horse Virus

My virus scanner detected a trojan horse virus and was
unable to get rid of it. I restored my computer to an
earlier time and ran the virus scanner again. It showed
no sign of it this time. Should I assume it has gone or
do you think it is still there somewhere? I would be
grateful if anyone could help me.
