loud noise coming from my computer

Good Morning,
I have this loud fan type of noise that comes from my computer as soon as I get on the internet it starts running if I hit the top of the tower sometimes it will stop or sometimes I will just let it run after about 5 minutes it stops and wont start again until i shutdown and turn it back on. I dont have no Idea what it is my brother says its my hard drive others say it the processor fan, can some please advise me of what I can do or do I get a new one .... yeah right lol!!!!!

Sounds like a fan to me. There are usually several inside: processor fan,
case fan, power supply fan are the basics. There can be many more added by
the builder or system owner.

Clean the dust bunnies out of the case and air vents. If the fan is still
noisy, you may need to leave the case open and listen closely to figure out
which fan needs replacing. If the system is prebuilt, original case fans
are usually inexpensive models and are prone to wearing out quickly.

Hi, I B Sweet,
The fan in my P.C. groans, and growls, on start up for a few minutes, and it
is very dust free.
It's just a junk quality product, supplied to make the cost lower, just to
pass the warranty period, and max. the profit.
What I do is lay the tower on its side, and no more noise. For a few days.
Stand it up, and the noise
comes back. Sound like a dry bearing, and perhaps the grease finds a new
position, whist on its side ?

For any fan other than the CPU fan, I find that a little WD40 sprayed
on a swab and applied to the shaft by the blades will stop this.

In my case it was the 3.5 floppy drive that had died. I unplugged the power
to it and it stopped (since replaced it).
