Lots of SPOOLSS network traffic

Hi,
I've got a Small Biz Server 2003 with 5 clients. I'm experiencing a
constant flow of SPOOLSS OpenPrinterEx request, \\servername\BizHub,
and SPOOLSS ClosePrinter request, OpenPrinterEx(\\servername\BizHub)
traffic from 3 XP clients on the network.

2 printers are connected to a wired print server. The sbs server has
the printers installed and shared on the network. Clients point to the
sbs server to print which passes the print requests onto the print
server. Printing still works fine. Watching traffic with wireshark
shows a constant stream of this kind of traffic from 3 clients when no
one is in the office.

Can anyone think of anything I should look at to stop these packets?
Should I be looking at the server or the XP clients to determine what
is going on?

Thanks,
Spencer

When the users leave for the day, do they exit the applications they have
printed from. MS Word calls get default printer a bunch (I have no idea
why), which will remotely get the device mode if the default printer is the
connection. I know there are other applications that also call
getdefaultprinter. Have one of the users log off rather than lock the
computer and verify the net traffic abates.
