I used to connect to the internet with my laptop with no
issues. All of a sudden I can see my home network from my
laptop, but cannot get to the internet anymore. My desktop
which uses the same router has no issues. I tried restoring
my PC to a point where things worked and that made no
difference. I have checked all the settings and things look
OK. Any thoughts? Thanks.

Anand,

Please start with ipconfig information for each computer, desktop and laptop.
Start - Run - "cmd". Type "ipconfig /all >c:\ipconfig.txt" into the command
window - Open c:\ipconfig.txt in Notepad, copy and paste into your next post.
Identify operating system (by name and version) with each ipconfig listing.

What precisely are you seeing when you "cannot get to the internet"?

From each computer:
From a command window:
1) Ping www.yahoo.com.
2) Ping 66.94.230.33.
Report success / exact text of error messages.

From your browser:
3) Browse www.yahoo.com.
4) Browse 66.94.230.33.
Report success / exact text of error messages.

And Anand, please don't contribute to the spread and success of email address
mining viruses. Posting your email address openly will get you more unwanted
email, than wanted email. Learn to munge your email address properly, to keep
yourself a bit safer when posting to open forums. Protect yourself and the rest
of the internet - read this article.
