Lost video drivers

After following NVidia's recommendation to remove ALL
previous NVidia drivers before updating video card driver,
I have lost all video on my PC and cannot get anything on
my monitor. System is as follows:

OS: Win XP Pro
Card: Asus NVidia GeForce Ti4400
MB: Asus A7V266
Chip: AMD XP 1800
Mem: 1.5 Gig

I can get into bios settings and have tried to start Win
XP Pro in safe mode, I get the blue screen of death saying:

STOP: c000021a {fatal system error} the session manager
initialization system process terminated unexpectedly with
a status of 0xc0000034 (0x00000000 0x00000000) The
system has been shut down.

I've tried to start Win XP in VGA mode, last known good
config, and safe mode with command prompt. All do nothing
but leave a blank screen.

I've even tried to start PC with XP setup disks and all I
get is "Disk I/O error."

Any suggestions to get video back?

During the boot, press F8 and select "safemode command prompt"
When the prompt appears, access the system restore tool:
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;EN-US;Q304449

If this doesn't work you may ned more drastic measures.
What kind of xp cdrom do you have? Full disk or a manufactureres
"restore" disk?
If it's full, you could always do the repair install.

I have the full Win XP CD-ROM, have tried to start
computer with disk in it, but to no avail. You mention
drastic measures, do you mean reformatting drice C?

I just tried safemade with command prompt, I got the
dreaded BLUE SCREEN OF DEATH saying,

STOP: c000021a {fatal system error} the session manager
initialization system process terminated unexpectedly with

What else can I try?

boot from the xp cd.
follow the path for an install.
When XP detects that a system already exists on the harddrive, it
will offer you the chance to repair... Take it.
It works great, only deal is you'll have to reapply
all updates, (probably) including sp1 and beyond.
But all you settings, apps, etc. will be intact.
