When you brought your computer to this "person" to fix it when your hard
drive failed, did you scream at them the way you are us - if so, I
understand their frustration and am surprised they did anything at all..
(ALL CAPS - hard to read, not very polite - considered screaming.)

Essentially, you are saying you cannot change your themes like you did in
the older versions of Windows? Like "Dangerous Creatures" and such?

Nope - those aren't there. Although - if the hard drive was not totally
dead, the person in question could have used the File and Settings Transfer
wizard and gotten things looking somewhat like you are used to.

As far as putting Windows ME back on - I can never recommend anyone using
Windows ME for anything - as I notice even Microsoft doesn't proclaim its
existence much. It's a sad attempt to do something, what? I don't know.
And the only way to go back is if the person in question really did an
"upgrade" and you can find the option to REMOVE Windows XP in Control
Panel -> Add/Remove programs. If you cannot do that, then you could format
your computer completely and start over - but them you purchased a Windows
XP upgrade CD and it's just sitting there... Windows XP is FAR superior to
Windows ME in a LOT of ways..

Keep XP. Learn to customize it.

Search with Google things like "TweakUI" and "TweakXP" and "customize
Windows XP" and start looking through the pages. You may have some learning
to do, but you will be happier in the end.

Eh?!? You're paranoid, if you think I'm stalking you - get a life, do! Don't
flatter yourself, I've got far better ways to spend my time.

My post wasn't meant to be "informative". I was replying to you, not the
original poster. And yours was neither informative, nor helpful. The simple
fact is that 98 themes won't work under XP.

MS have been attempting to ban you ever since you showed up - unfortunately
you keep slipping through their filters.

And it's Cerridwen to you - I don't allow trolls to call me 'Cerri'.
