windows xp themes

I lost my windows xp theme from a utlilty program I downloaded that was
suppose to optimize my computer. It change my theme to what appears to be the
classic view and when trying to change back to my XP theme its no longer in
my display properties. its been in the themes window as windows xp(modified).
How do I get my theme back to full xp theme and not xp modified? Is there a
download for this or what?

Use the "utility" that changed it in the first place? If it doesn't work,
contact the maker for help?

What *was* the program? Apps that promote themselves as being able to
"optimize my computer" may do quite the opposite...

Check if the Themes service is being stopped.

1. Click Start - Run - type SERVICES.MSC
2. Here in the right side pane check for the service name Themes.
3. Double-click the service and set the Startup type to Automatic click
Apply and then click Start.
4. Goto Display Properties - Theme tab and see if Windows XP theme is back
now.

hello master this is addison, i am also having the same problem. but i tryed
your 2 ways also didn't work on my pc. i didn't know what make the themes
gone coz this is an company pc. is there anymore ways to fix this? thanks man

Thank you so much for these directions!! i downloaded windows xp sp3 and
apparrently its got a few bugs cuz my whole system is falling
apart.....including my THEMES!! i wanted to scream...lol......but thanx to
your directions i got my xp theme back......any ideas how to fix the rest of
my system without having to completely restore it?? =]
