Lost tabs on task manager

Task Manager comes up with applications showing but no tabs, no menus, no
system stuff. Just the list of running applications with a border around
it. Only way out is escape key. Rebooting does not repair.

Any suggestions?

Try double clicking on the edge of the Task Manager.
