Lost tabs in Control Panel under Display

Had a long day cleaning spyware and other junk off my PC yesterday. Success,
yes, but with some odd consequences. Under Control Panel --> Display I only
have two tabs now, Screen Saver and Settings. I have lost Themes, Desktops,
Appearances, and perhaps others. I have tried "restore" and the PC tells me
there is nothing to restore. I have tried sfc /scannow and it appears that
all is well there. I have been to kells-korner and managed to get the
themes, appearances, and desktops tabs to reappear, though with limited
functionality.

Any other suggestions? I'm not particuarly familiar with registry keys, so
I'd hate to attempt a manual fix unless it's pretty straight forward.

Appreciate the help.

Check these two registry settings. Set them to 0
