lost settings and files

i have been using windows xp as the administrator for a
few months now. I have just tried to add a new person on
to the account. since i have done this i have lost my
original settings and files as the admin, how do i get
them back?

You should not be using the hidden administrator account for daily use. It
is intended for just in case purposes and to administer the computer. You
should create a user account for yourself to use on a daily basis. Once you
do this the administrator account goes into it default view which is hidden.
To access the hidden administrator account:
xp pro = ctrl-alt-del twice at the welcome screen, log in as administrator
xp home = boot to safe mode, log in as administrator
Once logged into the hidden admin account copy your personal files over to
the user account you made for yourself and log out og the admin account.
