Lost restore disk

I just bought a used laptop from a private owner, but
they lost the windows xp restore disk. Is it possible
for me to send the service tag numbers in and get a new
one shipped to me? Or do I have to buy another operating
system?
 
Contact the manufacturer of your laptop and inquire
about the availability of a Restore CD replacement.
