I've had problems with spyware and most of it is under
control, but one of the things I've lost along the way is
the quick launch tool bar. The start is there and when I
right click on the bar and I select toolbars and further
select quick launch I get a message "cannot create
toolbar".
I've searched Microsoft knowledge base and find nothing.
Any suggestions on how to replace it. You don't know how
often you use something until it's gone.
Thanks

No fix as of yet except for reinstalling windows. Many have offered solutions
on this board but none of them work except reinstalling.

I know how much I'd miss that stupid f***ing quick launch bar - not one tiny
bit :-))

since "upgrading" from win2k to XP I've only found about half a dozen
"improvements" that actually improve over win2k and one of them was the
ability to turn the quick launch bar off.

now, back to work trying to get rid of the "windows messenger" icon that
seems to have permanently attached itself to my systray...

I had the same problem and tried all of the fixes mentioned here with no luck. I lost mine also after running a spyware removal tool back in late June. Last night I found another message group that had a registry hack that worked for me. Maybe it will for you also. Copy and paste this url and click on the link in the last post on the page and it should open a registry editor. Hope it works for you. I sure was happy to get my quick launch bar back.
