Lost Programs

I restored my Sony Vaio and lost word, excel and the other Microsoft programs. How do I get them back? When I open attached files from emails, they open in note pad

You need to find your Microsoft Office installation CD and
reinstall Microsoft Office.

Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook have never been part
of the Windows Operating System. They are separate applications and must be
purchased separately. If you had them on your computer prior to restoring
it, then you have a disk for them somewhere.
