Lost Profile.. Help

My computer seems to have lost my profile and is booting on a newly created
profile. Therefore, I seemed to have lost everything. This is what the
Event Viewer says:
****************************************************
Windows cannot log you on because your profile cannot be loaded. Check that
you are connected to the network, or that your network is functioning
correctly. If this problem persists, contact your network administrator.
DETAIL - The system cannot find the file specified.

Are you on a domain?
If your previous profile was corrupted, you can (as an admin) take ownership
of the folder, so you can copy out what you need.
Or, restore from a full backup/image if you've got one.

Thanks
I just restored from a True Image Backup so I'm back to where I was. I
tried to restore the MBR first but that did not work.

However I would like to know how to restore just the profile so I will try
what you had mentioned.. on my test computer .... the ownership stuff.
Thanks.

Ah, I love Acronis, bless their pointy little heads.

No, the MBR wouldn't be relevant.

If you did a system state backup in NTBackup, and had a backup of the
documents & settings folder & all its subfolders, you could probably restore
both of them.
