lost product key

I'm am trying to reinstall windows 2000 professional. I
thought that I had the product key, I used a program that
told me my key and id number because i couldn't find the
authenticity form, but it seems that the numbers are
either wrong (at the the key number is) or i wrote them
down incorrectly. I would call the company i bought the
computer from (sceptre) but they went out of business
awhile ago. Any help would be highly appreciated
