obtaining a new product code key

I have Office Professional 2007 Plus that i reinstalled on my pc. Each time
I use word it asks for the product key and of course I no longer have it.
There were various problems with may hard drive so dell had a new one
installed with the OS on it. So I can't use one of the product key finders
to find the Office product key. I didn't purchase the software from Dell. I
went through all the documantation to find a microsoft support number to call
but it doesn't give me a number! So basically I'm asking for a microsoft
number to call so I can get a new product key. Thanks for your help.

Replacement of CD or Product Keys

To replace a CD or Product Key, you must contact Product Service Support. To
locate the appropriate phone number for your product, visit the following
Microsoft Web site:

So according to the MS web site I need to pay $295 to get a new product key
for a piece of software I already purchased? It would be cheaper to buy the
software again!

I doubt it. See “How to Obtain a New Product Key for Office Program Setupâ€
at http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=823570. It states:

When you contact Microsoft for a new Office product key, please have the
following items available for the customer service representative:
a.. The product CD-ROM.
b.. The computer on which you want to install Office.
c.. The readable parts of your original product key (if available).
d.. The ProductID information in the registry (for advanced users only).
I would think that surely if you explain the situation as you have to us
that you would pay a minimal amount if anything. If you have documentation
of purchase (any kind of receipt, paper or electronic), I'm sure that would
help.
