lost product code

i have lost the product code to my windows xp home
edition my copy was registered with microsoft how can i
get a product code so that my windows xp can be
reinstalled

If you can still access the installation, these can help:

This utility works for retail versions:

or try this one which just gives you the key for any version:

If not, and you have a retail version of Windows XP, call Microsoft Product
Support at 1-800-936-5700. If you have an OEM or preinstalled version, then
you need to contact the OEM distributor or system manufacturer for a
replacement.

The Windows 25-character Product _Key_ (required to perform the
installation) is stored on the CD packaging on a bright orange sticker
that says "Do not lose this number." If it was an OEM (factory
installed) license, it's stored on a label that the PC manufacturer
affixed to the exterior of the PC case, or on the bottom of a laptop.

To recover a lost Product Key:

If your system still runs, you should be able to use Belarc
Advisor from http://www.belarc.com/free_download.html to find the
Product Key. (If you have a factory-installed OEM license, and
haven't since reinstalled the OS, the revealed Product Key is probably
of the drive image used at the factory and not _your_ specific Product
Key; therefore, it probably cannot be -- and definitely should not
be -- used for a re-installation.)

If it was a retail license and you have proof of purchase:

If it was an OEM license, and someone has removed/destroyed the
label, you should contact you the computer's manufacturer; although
very few manufacturers/vendors keep records of the Product Keys
they've sold, it's worth a try before you have to buy a new license.

the op is not used to reading anything that has punctuation that is why she
threw away the box had the box stated that it should not be placed in the
trash without punctuation she prolly wouldnt have done it it is unfair to
question use of punctuation because the dimwit of a teacher said that as
long as the message was worded clearly it did not matter that no breaks were
placed into the general text I am still looking for a copy of war and peace
without punctuation as i have the same problem so there it is disgusting the
way they throw commas and periods into the printed word why do you think
that most people don't read manuals or websites i know that you are sitting
there thinking that i am stupid but you are wrong i didnt play hooky from
school any more than you did so stop being an ass and leave me alone i also
want a copy of xp that has no punctuation in the help sections as it puts me
off and i cant understand a word of it

geez, that was difficult to type.. I really had to try hard not to use
uppercase and punctuation.. my hat off to all who can produce garbage like
this as a matter of course..

LOL id roll on the floor but my neck hurts too much
government schools havent stressed grammar language or
spelling for many years so now even the teachers cant spell
either it seems that everybody is in a hurry and reading
instructions just takes too long sorry if im using the word
too when i should be putting a numeral 2 in for two too to.

youre right it is hard to write this way can you suggest
some place were i can learn to appear stupid and helpless
maybe i should use repeated letters such as hhheeeellllpppp
or the one bit of punctuation that those people know
