Lost PDF Icon in MS Word

Stan

I was getting ready to convert an Office Word document into PDF format
my usual way which is to hit the “Convert to PDF” icon at the top of
Word when I notice it isn’t there (the icon) any more. For the life
of me, I can’t seem to figure out how to get it back unless I
reinstall Adobe’s Acrobat which is the program installation that put
the icon in Word to start with way back when. Can anyone tell me how
to get this back up and working.

XP-SP2 (With all updates)
MS Office 2003 SP2 (With all updates)
Adobe Acrobat 6.0.4 Professional (With all updates)

Thanks in advance
Stan

This is an issue best asked in a Word, Office, and/or Adobe newsgroup. Look
at the newsgroups under microsoft.public.word, and microsoft.public.office.

In MS word, go to View and open View. Go to Toolbars. There should be an
entry for Adobe PDFMaker 6.0. Put a check mark next to it.

Thanks Sharon & Ghostrider for your feedback.

Sharon, after finding where it was, I tried Detect and Repair in both
Word and Acrobat to no avail.

Ghostrider, there was no entry anywhere under View/Toolbars.

Both of you..... So.... I did a Repair Install of Acrobat which still
left me with no PDF/Acrobat icons in Word. So, the dreaded reinstall
of a MS product looked like the next thing to do. Before inserting
the master Office CD to do this, I brought up the "About MS Word"
popup in word to see if I could get my Product ID in case it asked
during the Repair/Install and happened to notice an option there that
said "disabled items". So, I click on it and there they were... 2
Acrobat *.DOT entries. I re-enabled them and all is back to normal.

However, I have no idea what, when or where they got disabled. I'm the
only one on this computer so it wasn't me.

I hate not knowing why things happen but someone in another forum said
you can't be that way and have peace under windows....

Anyway thanks again to both of you for your feedback.

Regards,
Stan
