Lost Partion on Drive D after failed Linux installation

I am dual booting XP on Drive C and Vista on Drive D (2nd HDD/ WD 40gb).
Decided to try out OpenSuse 10.2. Booted from Linux CD and Open Suse
proposed shrinking Vista partion to 30.4gb and formatting remaining space as
a Linux partion. I accepted the default and proceeded. OpenSuse successfully
shrank the Vista partition but crashed whilst attempting to format the Linux
partition.
As a result I was unable to boot into Vista or access Drive D at all. I used
the Vista DVD to attempt a repair but initially received a message that
repair had failed and that there were no restore points on the drive. I
removed the DVD and rebooted. Much to my surprise however I was able to
successfully boot into both XP and Vista.
My Vista drive however is now set at 30.4gb. How do I recover the missing
space? TIA

Computer Manangement, Disk Management should allow you to expand the
partition.

1) Look at your GRUB configuration in /boot/grub as menu.lst. If you see a
line that contains "chainloader +1) you will boot into the Windows
bootloader (which I assume is how you are dual booting XP and Vista. As for
resizing either the Linux or Vista partitions I think you'll need a third
party program like Partition Magic or - what I use - BootitNG.

Thanks, but no GRUB configuration as Linux didn't get as far installing.
Follwed Mike's directions and recovered the space anyway.
