Lost notepad for .txt documents

Hi all I seem to have lost the ability to open .txt documents with notepad.
The computer searches for notepad.exe and can not find it. I used windows
explorer and found copies of notepad.exe and opened them. It seems the
specific place Notepad.exe is used to open .txt files is damaged or corrupt.
Can some one help me get notepad back where it belongs to open .txt files ?

Do a search for notepad.exe then copy it into your Winnt system32 folder.
You did not happen to use and run an earlier version of CWShredder? This
notepad problem was a bug in that version on some systems.
