I was trying to add the newsreader to my "go" menu, and I did something
wrong. Now, the "news" command is gone from my menu customization dialogue
box. How can I get it back and get my Outlook set up to read newsgroups?

Ok, I have set OE as my default, and I have gotten "News" back into my menu
bar. After I got the 'News' option back, I clicked on it the first time and
it worked correctly. Now, when I click on "News", instead of opening the
default reader, a folder opens up. Here is the path;

C:\PROGRAM FILES\COMMON FILES\SYSTEM\1033

I am really confused about this one....

Reset your websettings (also on the Program tab) and try again.

It is still opening up the folder.

Make sure you've set OE as the default newsreader in Control Panel->

You must also set OE _not_ to be the default newsreader within the
application itself. Another example of classic Microsoft logic:
1. OE must be set as default newsreader in Control Panel
2. OE must be set _not_ to be the default newsreader in OE.
Got it?

Ok. I have realized that everytime I click on "News" in the menu bar of
Outlook, the newsreader works ONCE. Then, in control panel, internet
options, OE gets removed as my default reader. I have to go in every single
time I want to use Outlook as my news reader and reenter OE as my default
reader.

....Still baffled....
