Lost my shortcut to desktop in quick launch toolbar

I have accidentally deleted my shortcut to desktop in the
quick launch toolbar. The normal create shortcut method
does not get me instantly to my desktop. I now have to
manually minimumize all open windows to get to my desktop.

Right-click on your Taskbar and select:
Toolbars > Quick Launch
The "Show Desktop" icon will appear on the left
side of the Taskbar.
