Lost my customized toolbars

Excel had its default toolbars when I opened a file this morning and my
customized toolbars were gone. There were many customized macro buttons I
created and assigned and it will take me hours to re-create these toolbars.
My Excel.XLB did not disappear and is still listed under C:\Documents and
Settings\<user name>\Application Data\Microsoft\Excel
Is there any way possible to restore my settings from yesterday when my
Excel worked fine?

First, rename the *.XLB file to *.OLD file. Note the size of this file in kb

Now close out Excel then re-open.

Make a few minor changes to a menu or toolbar then close Excel.

Does Excel create a new *.XLB file?

Is it basically the same size as the *.OLD file?

Your original customized *.XLB file could have already been overwritten "this
morning".

Have a search around to see if your customized *.XLB file exists in another
folder.
