lost msconfig ans winserv files

I have accidentally lost my msconfig and winserv files
and can no longer run Windows 2000. I do not have the
disk but I do have Windows XP. Can I install that over
Windows 2000 in order to retrieve all of my information
from the old computer? Please help!! Thank you. Sue
 
Not sure about winserv (I just searched my computer and I don't have it at all), but I know Win2K doesn't have msconfig. Even if it did, I don't think if that file was deleted that you wouldn't be able to run windows.
