Lost most of the software after install a new program

Hi, I lost or corrupted most of my software while I was installing and
uninstalling a new program, and I have no back up, tried to restore to an
earlier date but didn't help. Any help would be great!
 
Can't you be a little more specific. Windows XP is a big system with many
possible programs installed by users.

How are we suppose to help you when you give us nothing to work with?
