A number of my notebook users are experiencing this same
problem. While trying access their notebooks while not
connected to the network they recieve an error that
MyDomain is not available. Each and everyone of them had
previously been logged in while on the domain. Any ideas?

Check the following key on one of the laptops
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon\CachedLogonsCoun
If this key is set to 0 the computer will need a connection with a domain controller to login
