I utilize a netgear wg311 wireless adapter to access the
internet. Everything works perfectly until I install the
SP2 for Windows xp professional.
After installation, my wireless connection still shows a
strong signal to my router but I do not have access to
the internet even after making sure the configuration is
the same.
I have disabled the Windows firewall to make sure that
wasn't the cause but still no access.
Any ideas to get access?

Thanks

I had a problem a bit like this.. fixed it by making sure the Wireless
Zero Configuration and DHCP Client services were not disabled.

If that isn't the cause, can you please tell me whether the connection
is actually made (both when using the built in wireless config widget
and with the vendor supplied configuration tool).

Also, it would be helpful to know if you use DHCP to assign addresses to
wireless computers and to see the network settings of your PC.

Thanks,
