Lost icons and folders from Desktop

HELP!!!, I was typeing away when all my Icons, Shortcuts and folders on my
desktop vanished, I have tried to get them back but can't, once the computers
loads up all I get is the background, I can still get to the programes and
folders, but I can't put them back onto my screen, I have also tried to
restore the system but it won't do it, if there is SOMEBODY with more sence
than a pea, can they please help me.

After your PC boots and shows the wallpaper (background),
rightclick anywheres on the screen>highlight "Arrance Icons By>
then check "Show desktop icons"

Right click desktop , move cursor onto * arrange icons by * , click
show desktop icons .
