Lost Help and Repair Center

I'm not sure when this started, but when I click on Start/Help and Support,
it starts to try to load, but then quits with no error message. I have
Windows XP Pro, Service Pack 2.

Could someone please tell me how to get the Help and Support Center to work?
Is there a file I can copy from my other computer (same OS)?

Thanks,
Sheila

Hi,
make sure the machine is clean from malware and viruses by scanning your
system with up2date security software.
Download this fix and execute then Reboot your machine:
Restore Help and Support

Hi,

When I ran my anti-virus scan, it showed some help files that were damaged.
So I replaced those files with ones from my other computer. Then I executed
the fix and rebooted. However, it still doesn't work. It looks like it
starts to try to open the Help Center, but then stops. Then I booted in
Safe mode and tried again, but still the same thing.

So then I completely replaced all the help files and also the executablem,
but it still doesn't work.

As far as I can tell, everything else seems to be working Ok with the
computer.

Is there anything else I can do?

Thanks,
Sheila

I finally got it back by uninstalling and then reinstalling Help and
Support.

Hi Sheila,
Sorry, for some reason I cannot see your Thread or your recent post?????.
To my understanding your AV did find an infection in the Hlp files, is that
correct?.
You need to perform a thorough clean for malware and viruses from another
vendors other than your AV software then run this command:
sfc /scannow click [OK] and let it run, it mat ask you about the XP CD, so
get it handy to insert it in if needed to.
