'help' appearance

Why does my help screen look different than my friend's help and support
center screen? (Both are running w xp home service pack 2.)

When I click on start -> help and support -- my screen has two columns, one
headed "pick a help topic", and the other headed "ask for assistance".

When my friend clicks on start -> help and support - his screen has in the
right side of the help and support center several large icons connected
along a sweeping curve, nothing on the screen has any text that related to
the two columns on my screen.

What setting do I change to make his look like mine or mine look like his?

Some computer manufactureres do things to the help and support window
and put their own stuff there as well as the MS Windows stuff - my
Dell does that.

Is your computer from a different manufacturer to your friends?

Yes - mine's a Gateway and his is an HP.

Any other suggestions? I was hoping that it was just a setting like the
desktop 'appearance' setting.
