Lost folder tree and trouble receiving and sending emails!!

Hello,

I am having a couple of problems with Windows Mail. When I open Windows
Mail, my folders do not load correctly. I usually see all my folders in a
left-hand column ie: LOCAL FOLDERS, and under that the following: INBOX, SENT
MAIL, DELETED ITEMS, JUNK MAIL, etc, along with my personal folders - BILLS,
BUSINESS, PEOPLE, etc., and MICROSOFT COMMUNITIES directly in line with the
LOCAL FOLDERS link. I then have it set up(?) to receive my emails in a top
right box. When one is clicked on, the contents are listed in a lower
right-hand box. Now, I only see LOCAL FOLDERS (and just INBOX under that) and
MICROSOFT COMMUNITIES on the left side. My other folders do not automatically
load. I have to click on LOCAL FOLDERS (on the left), and double click the
folders in the right block to get them to list under LOCAL FOLDERS in the
left column (I hope that's not too confusing). Then when I close Windows Mail
and try to reopen later, they are all closed again and I have to go through
the process all over again. Vicious cycle... arrgggg

My other problem is not being able to receive or send my mail. I suspected
it might be an antispam problem, so since I'd have to purchase McAfree (which
seemed to have a number of problems) in the next few days to keep protection,
I uninstalled it and loaded Windows Live OneCare. Don't know if it supplied
SPAMKILLER, but that showed up under my INBOX.

This is all a mystery, and a headache. Please help, as I need to get on with
my life... and my business. Thanks ahead for your help. :^)

Antispam software is incompatible with WinMail and, as you have found,
generates numerous problems.

You should probably at this point wipe out the message store and start
again. First uninstall any antispam software and see here as well:
www.oehelp.com/OETips.aspx#3 Some antivirus software is also incompatible.

Then go to Tools | Options | Advanced | Maintenance | Store Folder to find
the message store location. Then move everything under that Windows Mail
directory to another directory, so that the Windows Mail directory is
completely empty. Then restart WinMail and it will open fresh with nothing
in the database. You can then add your accounts and if they work correctly
then you can import messages from the directory to which you moved the files
back into WinMail (see www.oehelp.com/backup.aspx#wm2wm).
