Lost files

I have re-innstalled my computer, but my files are locked to my old user. How
can i get to these files?

I have tryed "How to take ownership of a file or folder in Windows XP",
but I dont have the rights to change the rights... HELP!!! Have I lost my
files??

Were the files encrypted? If you have XP Home, they were not. I don't
know what "don't have the right to change the rights" means. If the
files were not encrypted then you're doing something wrong.

Read through the instructions how to take ownership again and also see
the next link about how to get the security tab.
