Lost Favorites in IE 6.0

For some reason, i have lost my favorites, and everytime i
start IE, i get an empty 'Links' folder on my desktop.
Now i found my favourites folder and it seems to be OK,
but i still cannot pull it up from IE, and i cannot add
favourites. I have a WinXP Pro platform. The problem is
limited to my user account. PLease help!

Your "favorites" folder seems to be redirected to the desktop or somewhere else.

See, http://www.mvps.org/sramesh2k/RedirectFolders.htm how to redirect special folders. You may need to revert it to original location.
C:\Documents and Settings\username\Favorites [which is %userprofile%\favorites if you want to set it in the registry manually]
