I have lost all of the emails(that had already been opened) in my inbox. I
have a Windows 98 Operating System (which needs to be upgraded) and my email
has been having a pop upbox that says "An illegal operation has occured.."
and closing down the system.

Today when I clicked on my Outlook Express it said it was receiving mail,
but it wouldn't come out of that mode. So, I hit control, alt, delete and it
ended the task. When I came back to Outlook after being on the internet
there was nothing in my inbox. In the past, I have been shutting off my
computer and that has gotten everything working again. When I tried that
this time everything from my inbox was gone. I still have everything in all
of my other folders. I have received new mail today that is in my inbox, but
everything else has disappeared.

Where did it go and can I get it back?

You're mentioning Outlook and Outlook Express (which are different
applications). Which are you using?? For Outlook questions, ask here, but
for Outlook Express questions, ask in
microsoft.public.outlookexpress.general.
