Lost DVD

Each time my computer is awaken from sleep I don't have a DVD Writer, I have
to restart to get it back, any ideas? I have Vista Ultimate 32 bit, Intel
Xeon CPU 3070 @ 2.66 GHz, 4 GB's of memory. Thanks.
