System specs below... Vista 32 bit Ultimate... still having this problem !
Has anyone EVER got sleep/hibernate working properly ? Any thoughts ??

You receive a Stop error message when you put a Windows Vista-based computer
to sleep or into hibernation, or when you resume the computer from sleep or
from hibernation: "0x0000009F DRIVER_POWER_STATE_FAILURE"

Did you try the hotfix available?
Check this link
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/941858/en-us
near the top there is a
View and request Hotfix downloads link.
MS will send you the fix and you will need a password they
will also give you to install it.
It comes via E-mail and will have the password
also.

I hope that will fix your problem.

Yes, and presumably because I already have SP1 installed, the patch errors
with "doesn't apply to your system"

For my system, the real fix - with SP1 - was updating the video driver. I
did have to look a bit to get one that works properly.

Just for everyone's info... my problem seems to have been caused by my
firewire external disk drive...

I found this patch on MS...

The patch doesn't work of course, but when I use the USB cables instead of
firewire... no more BSOD 09F's when sleeping with Vista !
