Hi! Recently i found out that the dvd icon from my windows explorer and from
my Computer panel was disappeared. Another thing is that when i load the
Fail-Safe Defaults within BIOS the PC after testing RAM memory recognises the
DVD and the DVD-R but can't find the HDD that I have but when i do exactly
the same with the Optimize Defaults within BIOS the PC can;t find the DVD at
all.

Which Might Be The Reason For this?
If Someone Can think anything, please don't hesitate to write it down.

Thank You!!!

Thanks for ressponding so quickly. I tried the fix you suggested but the
problem remains. The thing is that when i load the fail safe defaults within
BIOS both dvd and dvd-r are working fine but the HDD doesn't. And when i load
the optimized defaults then the dvd doesn't work. Could you help me on this?

It sounds like you have hardware problems. If all your devices worked at
one time, then you know they are jumpered correctly. If you've recently
added any of the devices, check to make sure you have them properly
configured master/slave/cable select. You can try swapping out the
cables with new ones. If none of that works, then probably one of your
motherboard's IDE connectors has died.
