Hi, My Os is windows xp home, yesterday 3 of my drives: d:my slave, e:my dvd
and f: my dvd burner doesn't show any more in the window explorer and disk
management but they still showing in the bios and device mgr. What i should do
to get my drives back.....Thanks

Drives will disappear like that if the Controller in Device Manager
has had the device tap set to "None". Open Device Manager and
expand the IDE ATAPI category. Double click on each Primary &
Secondary controller. Click the Advanced (TAB). Check that the
appropriate Device 0, Device 1 - "Device Type" is not set to None.
*Not all controllers ( Chipset(s) ) will show the Advanced Tab

I have also a problem with my sec drive.
Prim controler no problem
Sec controler:On the advanced tab
dev 0 =ok
dev 1 :Dev type -autodetection
tranfermode - DMA if avail
current transfermode- not aplicable

The drive has no driveletter anymore. It went wrong during in-/deinstalation
of Norton
Any ideas ?

Open Device Manager, Click View, tic/check "Show Hidden Devices".
Expand the CD/DVD category. Look and see if there are any entries
that appear in diminished tone or grayed out. If so, Right Click the
entry and choose "Uninstall". Reboot the PC and see if the optical
drive is properly re-enumerated.
