I have XP Home Edition yesterday I had updates come ,after they wer
installed I went to get into my 2nd drive D and was told it had to b
formatted..What happened,how do I get my information and my drive

A HDD does not get formatted automatically, so you may also scan the
system for malware with Ad-aware (http://www.lavasoft.de).
