type *.doc in the find or search box (depending on
your operating system) and make sure you have selected
your C drive to search for all word documents. The * is a
wildcard that tells your computer to find any and all
files that end with the extension .doc.

Alternatively, you could search for some distinctive phrase that you know
occurs in one of the missing documents. Let's just hope they weren't file
attachments that got saved to a temp folder!
