Lost document

I am not sure which Word program I am using, but I have Windows XP.
Yesterday, I completed a very large document with pictures, etc. Today when
I tried to open it, I get the message: The document name is not valid.
Check the path.... Is there any way to recover this document? Please help!

In Word, what did you do?

I first tried opening it in Word, then Search and Explore.  Nothing helped!

I went to Word, like I always do, and then to My documents, which I have done
a million times. I then clicked on the folder and document, and that's when
I got the message. I also tried going in from my desktop, but I got the same
message.

I don't know what "then to My documents" means. Did you type Ctrl-O?
What folder did it open for you?

Did you select the document you want from the Recently Used files
list?

Did you open Word, then go back out to Windows and open My Documents
from the Start menu?

We can't help you unless you tell us _exactly_ what you do!
