Lost Dial-up connect icon after critical IE 6 update

I have just downloaded the critical MS03-040 IE 6.0
Security patch. But, now there is no dial-upicon in my
Dial Up box and no icon in my bottom tray to indicate that
I am connected. When I try and use the disconnect option
in the menu bar, it tells me there is no connection to
disconnect!!!! Has anyone else had this problem, and how
can I fix it?

Try the Control Panel, network connections. Right-click your ISP name,
properties.
In the first (general) tab you'll see a box to be checked if you want
the icon displayed when connected. Check it.
Okay your way out, reboot.

If by some chance it is already checked, then I guess you could try
unchecking it, okay, reboot, then come back and check it again.
