Lost database

Hi,

I have a shortcut on my desktop that was open a database file. We lost power
over the weekend and now when i click on it i am getting a message saying
that the path when the shortcut is linked to does not exist. I do not
remember where the database was saved so i could re-map it. I searched
everywhere i could think off and no luck. Any idea how i can figure this out?
Thanks Community

Until you can find it, you won't be able to 're-map' it.

Was the database "split" (front-end on desktop PC, back-end data on server)?
If so, the Linked Table Manager wizard in the front-end might contain
information you could use to figure out where the back-end used to be.

You might try opening MS Access itself. Like Word, it has a "last 'n'"
files used feature under the <File> menu-choice. Perhaps you can spot where
it used to be that way.

Good luck!

Also, it just occurred to me that the shortcut itself should contain a
pointer to where it used to look. Right-click the shortcut and check
"Properties".
