lost current favorites

My IE Favorites has gone back to how it was about 1 year or so ago. What
happened and how can I retrieve my favorites which I had yesterday?

Hi,

Possibly your user profile was corrupted. Open Windows Explorer to
C:\Documents and Settings and see if there are two user accounts listed for
you, one appended with dot_something. This is likely the one you are
currently using, the other may contain your old (new) favorites.

name in the newsgroup microsoft.public.windowsxp.general.
