lost ATI Library file

I saved a .vcr file that I had recorded from my ATI TV card, All In Wonder
2006 Edition 9600. If i look in My Documents folder, which is the default
foilder, using Windows Explorer, the file is there.
However if open the ATI Library so I can export it out as a mpeg file, i can
not find it. Can someone tell me what i done, or exactly what
happened?...Thanks in advance...

You need to know the exact location of the "My Documents" folder then browse
to that entire foldername for export.

Have Library search for the files. Make sure My Documents is in the path.
Read what your doing carefully. What needs to be done wasn't what I expected
it to be and it didn't actually search the first few times I used it.

Maybe there is something I am missing all together. I am looking at the
Media Library from the ATI Multi Media Center. I do not see a search
function anyplace. I noticed if I remove a file from the Media Library, it
is still in the My Documents folder. Apparently I am not seeing the
conncetion between the two.
Is there another program that will read a vcr file? Is there a way to change
the format from when I record from the tv? Right now it saves them all in
vcr format, can i change that to mpg format?...thanks for your time and
knowledge in this matter....

it's my impression that Library was programmed in a 3rd world country by
someone who had never seen anything newer than W95 and didn't want to give
up DOS. Yes, I like it that much. Mostly use it for conversion(Export). Not
at that computer now but the "search" folder is like the second or 3rd
menu(from the center) on the right but I'm thinking its Add. If you don't
find something to let you look for new files you may need to do a Repair
Install of MMC.
Library has a protection feature for the files but if the file is protected
it shouldn't disappear. If it's protected you'll only see "Recommend for
Deletion". It doesn't get deleted till the parameter you have set is
completed. It was always confusing to me so I delete them in My Computer to
be safe. If its not protected you can just delete it in Library. If you see
1KB VCR files these don't contain video data but are just pointers to the
actual date files. You can read them in Notepad.
File Player is the only other program I can think of to recognize VCR files.
Not sure about 9.13 but older versions of MMC allow the use of MPG for TVoD.
All allow it for capture. The only thing you lose is Closed Captioning.
Hope you can make sense of my rambling. Not feeling the best today.
Almost forgot. Library requires support files. Make sure you have them
installed too. Requirements are on the D/L page.

I apparently have to do a repair or a reinstall. In my library I do not
have many options at all. No menus to allow me to open new files, no option
to save or search. Are there suppose to be file menus at the top of the
window like there is in all other window programs? I am assuming when i
reinstall MMC it will ask if i want to repair? Would it be better to
uninstall and reinstall?...thanks .

Their are menus at the top but they aren't exactly what I'd call standard
Windows menus. Just off enough to be weird like the rest of Library.
If you have the support files installed I would try the repair first.
Actually if you don't I'd try installing them then do the repair install.
It's much easier than doing a full install. If you do a full install look at
ati.com/install. Order of installation is important.

Add this to a new file and save it as something.reg, then right click
Merge it (or double-click on it), with the Library closed, you will then
have the option to scan your system for media files again.

Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\ATI Technologies\Multimedia\Library]
"FirstRun"=dword:00000001
