Lost access to domain computers

My network comprises NT4, win2000, and xp clients
connecting to a newly installed win2000 Domain controler.
The XP and win2000 machines intermittently loose access to
domain member computers. Authentication for connection to
browsed computers is requested before connection can be
made. Access to the domain controller shares are OK.
Any help please!

Sounds like DNS is not properly configured or your network is having
connectivity problems. Confirm that DNS is well the trace your environment
to determine if your network is contributing to the problem.

Are you using a single domain name and service pack4?
If so check KB 300684
