Lost ability to bring up Macros

Using Outlook 2003, when I go to Tools\Macros\Macros, nothing
happens.Likewise, when I use the shortcut accelerator Alt-F8, nothing
happens. I've tried re-installing but nothing changed. I've recently gone
through the exercise of removing Adware and Spyware so I'm sort of
suspicious that one of these programs inserted a shim in the chain of events
that is now non-functional. Can someone please suggest how I might be able
to get my Macros editor up and working again?

Hello,

I experience the same problem ...

Did you get an answer ?

Let me know via the NG,

Thank you in advance,

Marc.

I did finally get my macros running again through the use of the exceedingly
draconian method of "Help\Detect and Repair...". After running this, I lost
my email accounts and all email data so, before anyone else does this, write
down your email account settings so that you can re-enter them. The email,
macros, rules, appointments, etc were all recovered through the use of the
Control Panel's Mail applet. I used it to point back at my personal OST
file.

I think that I got into this problem in the first place due to adware and
spyware programs being removed from my PC, a battle which I am still
fighting. Any lawyers feel like starting a class action suit? These adware
programs are commercial products from, for the most part, legitimate
companies. They have damaged my machine and cost me the loss of thousands of
dollars worth of billable time. I'm sure I'm not the only person who has
been inconvenienced to such a degree. Sounds like just the thing for some
enterprising lawyer to make a buck on while doing a public service.
