Lost 100 pages in a file...

I have been typing a manuscript, and slowly adding to the contents. The
file has never left my computer and I have always used the same file. The
last time I opened up my file, there were approx 100 pages missing in the
file. I recall using the method to save the file as I always do, which is
just clicking the save Icon. I have searched the computer for the file in
case it for some strange reason got saved to another folder. I have checked
all temp folders, all users folders, hidden files. etc. Where could those
100 pages gone? Any suggestions?

You don't give us a whole lot to work with but... Was this document attached
to an email? Do you run a current antivirus? Is it on your local drive or a
network?
